The main mandate of KSI is to foster the development of immunology by increasing intellectual exchange between clinical and basic science to improve health and disease in Kenya. The society creates a linkage between research institutes, universities and industries in Kenya and promotes mentoring of new scientists interested in Immunology. KSI achieves its activities through hosting of congresses, trainings, workshops and seminars. To date KSI has hosted the 1st FAIS-African Immunology Congress in Nairobi in 1992 and the 9th FAIS-African conference from 1-4th December, 2014.
Kenya Society for Immunology (KSI) was formed in the 1990s as a platform to connect biomedical scientists and clinicians working in the field of immunology and its related disciplines.
In association with the Federation of African Immunological societies (FAIS- www.faisafrica.com ) and our global partner International Union for Immunological Societies (IUIS- www.iuis.org ) KSI fosters communication and networking among African immunologists and their international collaborators especially those that support the growth of immunology in Africa. Through these networks, all scientists can benefit from high quality science, can identify mentors and collaborators that can help them develop their own careers and contribute to building capacity for research in Africa.
